Based in sunny Blenheim, Marlborough Cricket wishes to appoint a full time Development Manager and a part time Development Officer who will help us to grow community participation across the region.  Our aim is to inspire a life-long love for the game, providing opportunities for all to have a go.

If you have a passion for grassroot sports we would love to hear from you. We have technical cricket coaches to support the high performance/rep teams. The role will be focused primarily on growing the game with school age participants – you will need to be able to engage, lead and provide basic coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of junior cricket programmes and competitions
  • Build and sustain relationships with Schools in the region to support their Cricket Programmes
  • Grow engagement and participation of the game within our District including supporting programmes to improve diversity
  • Deliver MCA / NZC Development programmes
  • Provide support to club & rep coaches
  • Active engagement with parents and supporters of cricket
  • Provide input into the short and long-term strategic direction of Community Cricket and Game Development. Promote MCA core values and implement key strategic objectives

 

More about you

  • Experience delivering coaching and development programmes (not necessarily Cricket)
  • Desire to be a leader in sports and coach development
  • Passionate about sport and cricket in particular
  • Prepared to work flexible hours including some weekend and evening work
  • Confident and engaging nature with a positive and enthusiastic manner
  • Ability to develop coaching plans and to plan strategically
  • Competent in the use of current Microsoft Office suite products
  • Full NZ Driving Licence
