Our Ultraquip Hire Senior Rep Men got their Hawke Cup campaign off to the perfect start with an outright win over Buller at the weekend. Good contributions from Josh Poole (44), Luke Holdaway (38), Joel Lavendar (39) and Griffin Carter (41) helped Marlborough post 254 batting first before Jaden Adams (5-29) led the attack to bowl Buller out for 124. Forced to follow on Buller fared a little better in their 2nd innings with 199 but not enough to prevent Marlborough cruising to an 8 wicket outright win with Josh Poole unbeaten on 29 for a useful double. Next assignment for the Senior Men’s team is against Nelson on 14th November again at Horton Park.
In the latest round of SBS Bank 2nd grade 40 over games there were wins for Renwick and Celtic Green with strong showings from Sukh Aulakh (58), Logan Robinson (4-40), Andy Fitzpatrick (69), and Caleb Young (50no). Last week also saw the start of 2nd grade T20 competition grades with Section A wins for Valley Blue, UCVC and Celtic Green. Leading performances included Baldev Gill (38), Patrick Moran (38no), Paul Hickman (85no), Kyle Heagney (41), Greg Knowles (38), Joel Logan (40), and Jack Holdaway (36no).
In section B there were wins for Wairau Awatere, Renwick Roughies and Celtic Gold with good contributions from Jono Underwood (56 & 3-15), Leon Donald (38no), Matt Clark (32), and Josh Sim (52).
Celtic and Wairau were the winners in the latest round of 40 over 3rd grade games. James Smart (35 & 4-21), Kurtis Pincott (5-23), Michael Canning (31), John Diamanti (3-32), Dom Alexander (72), Joe O’Regan (36 & 2-4), Kyle Buckley (50), and Fionn Heagney (3-28) all having good days.

This Friday sees the continuation of the Senior Grade T20 competition which now moves to evenings for round 5 with Wairau taking on Renwick and Celtic taking on Wairau Valley with both games at Horton Park starting at 5.15pm.
