The Marlborough Year 9/10 boys side lost out to Nelson in their 50 over inter-district game last Sunday. Batting first Nelson racked up 230, all out in the 50th over. Daniel Baker (3-25) and Harry McKendry (3-37) were the main wicket takers while Billy Hurren bowled well without luck in his 1-27 from 10 overs. In reply Marlborough struggled to build partnerships, all out for 144 with more than 10 overs unused. Several batters got starts without pushing on, Fionn Heagney the top scorer with 45. Next assignment for the team is the CD tournament in Levin in January.
With the latest round of senior grade T20 falling victim to Wednesday’s wet weather focus was on SBS Bank 2nd grade games and there was an exciting tie between Valley Blue and Renwick with both teams ending on 112. Sanket Sali made a crucial 38no for Blue, Luke O’Hagen scrambling the run that earned Renwick the tie with the last pair at the wicket. Tom Sloan smashed a century from 63 balls in Celtic Green’s 119 run win over Valley Yellow. Caleb Young provided support with 41no, brother Liam then taking 5-12. In section B Wairau Warriors continued their winning ways, Andrew Wheeler (4-20), Ed Miles (33) and Paul Alexander (35) staring in their 5 wicket win over Renwick Roughies.
In 3rd grade Celtic gained a tense 1 wicket win over Wairau Valley thanks to Connor Davies (4-16), Quinn Deane (3-24) and Dave Kennedy (43). George Frampton (35) and Harry Nailer (5-21) were the standouts for Valley.
Top performers in the latest round of WK 4th grade games included; Harry Dunn (4-4), Jock Murphy (31), Paddy Milton (38), Christian Morton (3-12) and Manawa Doonan (3-13).

The remaining age group rep teams are all training hard with festivals coming up in the New Year for the Primary School Boys Marron team (in Timaru), Yellow team (in Christchurch) and White year 6 team (in Mandeville).
